On 23 June 2026, Team #8 (“OrcaHawks”) will be taking off on an epic adventure alongside 46 other teams in the 49th annual Air Race Classic!!
More than 100 women will compete in 2-3 person teams on this 4 day race across 2400 nautical miles with stops at 8 different airports along the route. The race must be flown in daylight hours. To win, racers must manage weather, wind, terrain, and their airplane performance as they attempt to beat their handicap speed by more than the other teams. You can read more about the planned course and learn more about the history of this race at https://www.airraceclassic.org/.
Team #8 is Bethany Carter and Elizabeth Menozzi. We are flying in Elizabeth’s Cessna 172C and will be representing Orcas Island and the Airhawks, our local flying club.
